J. Brough Schamp is a photographer specializing in architectural, location and environmental portraiture photography. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography from the University of Michigan, he started his own business in 1980.
Mr. Schamp's clients include many Baltimore and Washington architectural firms, real estate developers, graphic design and advertising firms, government agencies and local corporations. In addition to photographing architectural interiors and exteriors, Mr. Schamp also does aerial photography. While he is active in current design projects, he maintains a longstanding interest in regional architectural heritage. He has served six years on the board of directors of the Federal Hill and Fells Point Preservation Society.
Mr. Schamp is an affiliate of the American Institute of Architects and is a member of American Society of Media Photographers, Baltimore Heritage and the Baltimore Architectural Foundation. His photography has been featured in the national magazine Architecture and Style magazine. Mr. Schamp's style is characterized by strong graphic composition, light and color.
